The HoMedics Shiatsu Massaging Cushion will make you feel like a new person. It is easily available and pays for itself in a few uses. It is easy and pleasurable to use, and will enhance any office chair. Here is my experience:I first saw the massaging cushion around Christmas time at the drug store. It cost about $100, and since I was buying lots of Christmas presents that month, I didn't have the extra money to buy it. When my tax return came back, it was one of the first things I wanted.
When I took it out of the box, I had a little trouble fitting it to my large office chair, but once it was on, I was ready to use it. It truly felt like someone was massaging my back. To me, it felt as good as a professional massage. There are four balls inside it, two for each side of the spine. The settings can be set to massae the upper back, the lower back, or the entire back. The balls slowly work their way up and down the spine, pushing in and kneading the muscles. My first time, the next day, my muscles were actually sore, so I put a towel between it and my back until I could get used to the strength of the balls. It is a relaxing Shiatsu massage every time I want one. With both my husband and I suffering from back trouble, it has been used often.
The downside: It is "leather", making it sometimes hot or cold, depending on the temperature in the house. The cord is not all that long, and it is not something I would put on and take off the chair, so unless I unplug it under the chair (there is a place to seperate the cord), it can be a pain to move the chair around. It can also be a pain to unplug it and plug it in for every use.
The upside: It is a deep-kneading massage for even the sorest of muscles. The HoMedics Shiatsu Massage Cushion is also a winner of a best buy award from Consumer Reports. It has the three different massages, and a touch pad to start them. It also will fit most chairs. It is comfortable and adaptable, and will turn itself off after a while to prevent over-use. It also comes with a two year warranty.
