So your having that addictive craving for a hot mocha again aren't ya? If your in the Boulder CO area you have plenty of options to choose from. You can choose corporate America with Starbucks which will undoubtedly be your most convenient place or you can choose one of the local coffee houses in town. My personal favorite is Trident Bookstore and Cafe which is located just west of the Pearl Street Mall and just off 9th street. Not only do they have great coffee and tea but the atmosphere is just amazing. It truly is a unique place and I hope everyone has a chance to experience it at least once.

When you walk into Trident you'll immediately feel like you've walked into another continent. Its a great place to enjoy your hot cup of coffee and just relax. Its usually quite busy there and you'll notice that many people decide to enjoy there coffee inside the coffee house. This is because the atmosphere is quite relaxing and its quite enjoyable. I'm a regular at Trident and I always enjoy my coffee there. I probably pass three or four coffee houses on my way to Trident and I never think twice about why I'm going there instead. If I only cared about my caffeine addiction I'd just hop in the nearest Star bucks and I'd be on my way. I however prefer to enjoy my coffee in a more comforting environment.

The other nice thing about Trident is that they are cheaper than Starbucks and most other coffee shops. People seem to think that since its local it must cost more. This simply is not true. They mainly rely on word of mouth for there marketing and thus have less overhead. A large mocha will cost roughly $3.00 including tax whereas at Star bucks you can expect to pay almost $4.00.

The only small downside is that Trident is so busy there are times where finding a seat is tough. If your willing to brave the great out doors (they have outside seating) then your all set but on those really cold days be prepared to snap up a spot as soon as you see it.

I'll have to check it out next time I'm in the area. Forget Starbucks - I always support local coffee houses!
