If you're a chocolate lover, and I mean a serious chocolate lover, then there is no better pla
ce on earth to venture to then the small town of Hershey, Pennsylvania. However, plan to drive, since the nearest airport in Harrisburg doesn't offer a wide variety of airline services.

When I made my journey to Hershey, Pennsylvania it was by way of Baltimore, Maryland. After my short flight, I then rented a car and drove the additional 90 miles to reach my destination. I had thought that the drive might be at least partially entertaining; however, I quickly realized that the only route between Baltimore and Hershey was the scenic one.

When I arrived at my hotel, the Hershey Lodge, I was immediately welcomed with the overwhelming smell of chocolate everywhere. The lobby was rustically decorated, and comfortable sofas and chairs clustered in informal gathering places throughout the spacious room. I was checked in by a more than pleasant staff at the front desk and directed to my room.

My immediate take on the chocolate paradise was that it wasn't going to be such a bad stay - but when I got to my room things changed completely.

The smell in the parking lot view hotel room was absolutely atrocious, almost as if I had been placed directly above the outlet to the sewer system. That, mixed with the almost sickening smell of chocolate was enough to make a person want to step outside just to catch their breath. I immediately called the front desk to state my complaint and was told that they would have no other rooms available until the next day.

Hershey's Kisses have been an American classic since 1907.
