Now, I recommend using a pre made jute rug in the size you want to save time and energy. You can buy the jute rug in any color you want and use white or rosy pink milk paint to stencil the French Rose design.

If you have a collection of smaller jute rugs you can try turning them all pattern side down on the floor. Line them up to make one large rug. Use some duct tape on the back to hold them together. This will create a huge palette for your French Rose design.

When you want to break the rug apart into the previous smaller components simple peel off the duct tape and flip them over.

Now, time to personalize your Shabby Chic French Rose Painted Jute Rug.

First, if you did not buy a rug in the color you want, then paint the entire jute rug in one coat of one color of milk paint.

When mixing your milk paint use less water to make thicker stencil paint.

This color can be any color you want. I think using pretty bright pinks, blues, and whites would work best though!

Let this dry.

Now, you are ready to start stenciling your shabby chi French rose design.

Play around with this design on paper first, that way you know how you want to lay our your rose pattern on the rug before you start.

Takeaways
  • Simply place your rose stencil on the jute rug.
  • Start dabbing on your thick milk paint.
  • Now, you need to continue until you have finished your pattern.
