Favorite Eats and Treats in Westwood Village
Newly admitted student to UCLA? Go to Santa Monica College? Recently moved into Westwood? Just passing by and you just so happen to be in Westwood Village? Or are you tired of always eating In-n-Out and Panda Express? Anyways the thing about Westwood Village is that it is a college a town with mainly just restaurants and movie theatres. There are no dance clubs or bowling alleys and the bars are decent. The restaurants there are mainly chain restaurants but there are a few "hole-in-the-wall" places which I do highly recommend. Here are the following favorites:
1. Don't go to Chipotle on Broxton Ave--Instead go to Jose Bernstein on Broxton
Chiptotle serves big big burritos but I prefer Jose Bernstein because it is cheaper and the portions are generous and there's a wider variety of food not just with burritos but they also have breakfast burritos(they even have Kimchi Kalbi Burrito), quesidillas, fries, and burgers. I like how they can deliver to your place and they open past midnight. My friend is regular there because he loves to get food really late at night. What I don't like is that they charge a few more cents if you put it on your card.
2. Don't go to Panda Express at UCLA-- Instead go to Noodle Planet on Westwood Blvd.
This might be quite a walk from UCLA but the food here is so good. If it's your first time here try the Pad Thai and also there is little boba/frozen yogurt section too. Warning: they only accept cash.
3. Don't go the Starbucks for Coffee on Broxton Ave and the other one on Westwood -- Instead go to Expresso Profeta on Glendon
This is my favorite coffee in a long time. The people who run the place are from Seattle and looks like they brought Seattle to Westwood. The building is cute, interior decoration is like an antique store. It's got little garden patio outside too and it's got free wifi. The coffee tastes really good--for lattes I recommend the Cafe Nico. The bad thing about it is that the coffee is slightly pricey and they close at 6:00 pm--but then again, you really shouldn't drink coffee after 6 pm.
