Controversial Websites: Cheaternews.com
Cheaters and Abusers, Beware!
The statistics are not encouraging. In a poll taken not long ago, the results said that 22% of married men have cheated at least once over the course of their marriage and that 70% of married women had no clue that their spouses were unfaithful. The internet may have even exacerbated the problem, in some ways, because now
The discovery of infidelity in a marriage can leave the cheated-on wife feeling extremely betrayed, angry and disillusioned. Understandably, these women feel a need to vent their rage, but don't know where or how to do this.
There is now a website that offers them the opportunity to express themselves and even gives them the chance to expose cheaters and abusers. That website is CheaterNews.com. I had touched on this site briefly in my earlier article, Women, Love and Revenge: Is Getting Back the Answer? , but wanted to find out more information on what this intriguing and highly controversial website is all about.
The motive of CheaterNews.com appears to be that it strongly believes that victims of infidelity have the right to speak out about their own personal experiences, which they are able to do, anonymously, on the site's message board. The forum has sections divided by state, as well as sectons for those from Canada, Australia, the UK and the Philippines, where detailed accounts of incidents of cheating by spouses and/or boyfriends can be given. The chief controversy comes from the fact that the "specifics" might include the names of the offender, as well as the name of the person he has cheated with and may sometimes reveal where these individuals are employed or where their social hangouts are.
Some typical examples of stories that are posted tell about:
...A man who not only cheated on his spouse, but allegedly gave her an STD.
...A woman who found out a man she dated cheated on her with both another woman and a man.
