Our name defines us. For that reason parents should take care in naming their baby. They should think long and hard when doing it. Plus, they need to remember one thing. Whatever name is given to your baby will remain with him/her through his/hers entire life. That means that cutesy sounding name will be what people will refer your child to when he/she is an adult.

Of course, many times parents use family names when choosing, They may name their child after a parent or grandparent. They may even use a combination of both names. Plus, some sons are named after their father and thus becomes a junior. Then sometimes parents will have no idea what to name their child so they pour over those baby name books and top baby name lists to find that perfect name.

One such list was performed by Baby Center, which is the largest private database of baby names in the United States. This list consisted of the most popular names for both boys and girls in 2005. The are as follows:

Top Ranking Boys names:

Another list was conducted by Barclays of Britain. It was an unscientific study that consisted of 60,000 of their premier banking customers. When they mean premier customers, they are speaking about their wealthy customers who make $182,000 or more a year. They calculated which names showed up more, for instance most of their premier banking customers who were male was named David and female was named Susan. The following is the list of the complete top 20 names they found for moth male and female.

I'm still trying to figure out how Ed is a sexy name for a dude. I can't think of one Ed people might call sexy. LOL. I'm going to go with Cade and Colbie (female) for my two runts that I'll have.. lol

My sons name is Jacob, but his has been the only popular name among all my kids. The others names are Dominic, Caleb, Adriana and Shawn.
