With winter behind with all of its plain and cold colors, it is time to decorate your home for Spring time! The first step would be Spring Cleaning. Straightening up and re organizing things in and outside of your home will spruce it up and give you the opportunity to transform your home for the new season.

Spring time is all about light, and color, and warmth. Allow light to re-enter your home by opening up your curtains, and removing extra clutter off of table tops and counters so that the light can really come into your home. This will brighten up your home from the winter drabness that is now behind.

Nothing says Spring like flowers! You can select a bouquet of yellow, orange, pink, and purple flowers and arrange them in a glass vase on your table inside. You can also, plant flowers in the garden or in the front yard to add a splash of spring flowers to the outside! (This would be a great children's project as well!)

Add color to your home by changing your curtains, bed linens, pillow cases,, table cloth, and any accents that you have decorating your home already. Choose colors that are softer for the summer. You can use coral(green), yellows, oranges, lavender, pinks, baby blue... You can use a mixture of warmer and darker colors (for Summertime decorating) with your home's new Spring look. As long as you remember to keep things Bright, Warm, and Colorful then you will create a great new Spring look to your home.

During the winter time, my children always brought home little crafts and pictures that they had made at school. These decorations accented the walls throughout our home. Now that spring is here, I love putting up the children's little paper flowers on the walls that they bring home for me. But, your child's/children's contribution does not have to stop at only what they bring home from school. There are lots of spring time crafts that you can do with your child at home, and it makes way for great family time and memories for your child.
