A successful contact lens experience begins with a visit to your optometrist or ophthalmologist. Based on your eye exam he or she will be able to tell you what type of contact lens would be right for you. In some cases you might not be a good candidate for contact lens. Be sure to let them know how long you would like to be able to wear your lenses. Some people wear them during their work day and remove them at night while others like to be able to wear them overnight. Let them know what your working conditions are like or if you plan to wear them during sporting events. Your eye doctor has a large variety of lenses to choose from and can find a lens that will work well for you. No matter what type of lens you and your eye doctor agree on make sure you have annual eye exams to make sure you are keeping your eyes as healthy as possible. If you have extended wear lenses you might want to consider going twice a year for a check up.
