Product Review: Dawn with Odor Eraser

Dirty dishes, we all have them and washing them by hand is a chore that most of us ultimately dread. As with the majority of dishes which are dirty I am sure I am not the only person to notice the unpleasant aroma that accompanies some of them. Dawn dishwashing detergent has always been a favorite in my household to use while washing the dishes. So when Dawn came out with the new Dawn with Odor Eraser I had to try it.

I purchased Ultra Concentrated Dawn with Odor Eraser, with splash of lime scent. The price of this product is average compared to other Dawn products already on the market. The bottle is clear with a flip top cap. The liquid detergent itself is light green in color. Upon opening the bottle you will notice the pleasant lime fragrance this product gives off. On the label located on the back of the bottle it states that Dawn with Odor Eraser fights odors like onion, garlic, and fish on plastics and works hard to remove grease from all your dishes, pots and pans.

When I first used this product, I was intrigued as to whether or not it could actually clean my dishes as well as other Dawn detergents I have used in the past, as well as be able to eradicate the putrid odors that develop on some of my plastic dishware. So I put it to the test. I filled my sink with warm water and added a little of the Ultra Concentrated Dawn with Odor Eraser. The sink quickly filled with the lather of this product. I then added a little of the Dawn detergent to a dish cloth and began washing my dishes as I normally do.

Right away I was enveloped by the pleasant scent of lime. The fragrance was not too strong yet it was definitely noticeable throughout the room. I first started with my plastic dishware to see if the odor would be erased as the product states. I let the plastic dishware soak in the warm water for a short amount of time (approximately five minutes). Then I washed the plastic dishware. To my amazement the odor was indeed erased.
