M.A.C. LipGèlee is not a lipstick, and therefore does not have the obvious drawbacks of a lipstick. There is no clumping color, no blotchy pigment, and absolutely no heavy, dry paste to scrape off at night. Instead, M.A.C. LipGèlee is a gloss that blankets the lips in a soft, smooth, lightly tinted, protective shell - one that glistens, catches the light, and makes the lips look shiny and sexy. M.A.C. LipGèlee gives the lips a wet look without the damp feel - meaning there are no embarrassing stains at the edge of the drinking glass or appetite diminishing smudges left on food. In fact, the coating is so soft, so delicate that it barely registers at all, even while shielding the lips from the sun and wind. The M.A.C. LipGèlee tube fits into small handbags, and comes in a squeeze bottle with a slanted tip for easy application. It even sparkles.
Just a year ago, I was so disenchanted with makeup, that when I received the M.A.C. LipGèlee as a Christmas gift, it lingered in the package for weeks and weeks. When I finally ran out of chapstick, I reached for it in haste, prepared to endure until I could make it to the nearest drugstore. From that moment forward, I've been a devoted fan, spreading the word from friend to friend.
