Behind the success of any man or woman is a person who has a vision and a plan for helping people. When you help enough people, you succeed and can be well rewarded for your efforts. The human element is considered to be the most important factor for a real estate agent to find success.

A real estate agent can find a lucrative career when they are driven by people skills and a good work ethic. What does it take to be an ideal agent?

1. An ideal agent knows him or herself. They know what their skills are and what they need help at doing. They have a good read on their personality and are willing to tweak it if needed to improve. They are at all times honest in their dealings with the people involved in the transactions. They are not phony since people can sense this and will not want to deal with this type of person. They are aware of what it takes to achieve and they believe they can do it.

2. The successful person has a solid tract record. Many real estate agents come from a different field and enter the real estate business after some years doing other things. They know what it means to accomplish something and are not afraid of doing things to make it happen. More often than not, they were successful in whatever endeavor they were before they became a real estate agent.

3. They tend to be optimistic and have a pleasant outlook on life. In fact, most people who succeed in life have an optimistic viewpoint. The optimistic person views the problems and failures of life as only hurdles that need to be climbed as they continue down the road of life.

4. The agent who will succeed knows how to motivate or move people to action. They have a certain unique ability to motivate their clients into action. They do this when it is in the client's best interest to do so.

5. They know the values of properties around their area. Prices can ebb and flow, but the agent has a good sense of his community and what the going price is for the properties in his or her area.

6. They need to know the client's ability to pay and be sensitive to the needs of the buyer or seller depending on who the agent is representing.

A good tract record comes with real estate, not before. Did you mean a good TRACT record? I think this article sheds very little light on the skills actually needed for a real estate career.
