Motrin IB: For All the Pains in Your Life
I have an autoimmune disorder called Sjogren's Syndrome (essay below) which causes joint pain among other symptoms. I have fought to stay away from medication and so far so good. I take Motrin instead and it works!
Motrin or ibuprofen is used to relieve the pain due to swelling caused my arthritis, dental work, surgery, muscle aches, menstrual pain, backache and to reduce fever. You may know it
also asGenpril, Aleve or Advil.
I've taken it in many of its forms. What I have now is Motrin IB caplets. I paid about $17.00 225 coated easy to swallow capsules. Note: this bottle is not for households with young children. It has an easy to open cap
Before taking Motrin make sure you talk with your doctor. If you are pregnant or having surgery you may not be able to take Motrin.
If I could change anything about Motrin it would be to be able to take it without food or milk. I don't necessarily want to eat when I need a Motrin but I must. If not it can cause an upset stomach and worse down the line. Some of the side effects include dizziness, vomiting, skin rash, an allergic reaction, constipation or diarrhea. I have no adverse affects from Motrin.
Motrin gives temporary relief not only for my Sjogren's related illness but for headaches, toothaches and menstrual cramps. It will also temporarily reduce fever. Unlike Tylenol which just relieves pain, Motrin is also an anti inflammatory which is an absolute necessity for me.
The dose is one caplet every four to six hours. If your pain doesn't respond to one then you can take two but you can't take more than 6 in a 24 hour period. Children under 12 may not be able to take Motrin so talk to your doctor.
The ingredients are Ibuprofen 200mg (NSAID) in each caplet carnauba wax, collidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, FD&C yellow #6, hypromellose, iron oxide, magnesium stearate, polydextrose, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized starch, propylene glycol, shellac, stearic acid, and titanium dioxide.
