Mrs. Meyer's Earth-Friendly Cleaning Products Make Housework a Little Less Painful

For a lot of us, household chores are a total drag. Apart from the inherent drudgery of the tasks, the toxic and harsh ingredients found in most commercial cleansers are downright unpleasant, if not downright dangerous. In the quest to motivate myself to overcome my aversion to housework, I decided to seek out natural cleansers that could get the job done, and discovered Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day cleaning supplies. Mrs. Meyer's uses only natural ingredients or safe synthetics, and does not use chlorine, ammonia, or phosphates in any of their products. The products are also cruelty-free, as they contain vegan ingredients and are not tested on animals.

The first thing I noticed about the Mrs. Meyer's products was the fantastic fragrances available. The company uses top quality essential oils which contribute to the aromatherapeutic properties of scent. All of their numerous products are available in three different fragrances; lavender (soothing), lemon verbena (energizing), and geranium (refreshing). My personal favorite is the lavender scent. Though the label lists only lavender and orange essential oils, it smells to my nose like a wonderfully fresh and calming blend of lavender, apples, and chamomile. The lemon verbena and geranium scents are wonderful as well, and are very natural and pleasing. For a limited time, the company is also offering a honeysuckle scent as part of their Spring Cleaning Kit.

One of the best Mrs. Meyer's products is their All Purpose Cleaner. This cleaner is a fantastic deal. For $7.99, you get 32 ounces of concentrated cleanser, which seems to last forever. In an empty spray bottle, I like to mix about 2 tablespoons (I use a little more than necessary because I like the scent to be more powerful) of the All Purpose Cleaner with 1 pint of water. This works great on countertops, sinks, tables, the refrigerator, and all other non-porous surfaces. For kitchen and bathroom floors, the All Purpose Cleaner mixed with warm water is fantastic. I almost like mopping now. Almost. The floors get so shiny and clean with this product, and the rooms smell great for hours.
