Fortunately enough, bikini season comes right afterward, which will help motivate you into losing some of the weight that you gained. In order to shed some of the pounds which you may have put on this past winter, there are a number of things which you might want to consider doing. All of these will help you ensure that not only will you lose the weight, but that it will also stay off in the long run, or at least until next winter!

Understand What is Making You Gain Weight

One of the most important keys to losing the winter weight which you have gained is understanding why this has happened. You should think about what types of changes you have made recently, as well as which habits are bad ones. For example, have you recently started drinking more soda than usual? Or perhaps you have stopped your exercise regimen. No matter what it is, you need to understand what has made you gain.

Set Realistic Goals For Yourself

One of the main keys to losing the pounds which you have gained is setting realistic goals for yourself. For example, although you might want to aim to lose ten pounds in a week, the truth is that this will not happen - and if it should, it will not be healthy. You should aim to lose no more than three pounds a week. The main key is making sure that you do not plan on accomplishing more than you can really handle. If this does end up japanning, chances are that you may get frustrated with yourself and give up on the thought of losing weight. Until you set realistic goals for yourself, you will never be able to lose the winter weight that you have gained.
