This website provides a survey of African American history from its African roots to “What the futures holds”. Even though most sections are short (typical for a website), there are a lot of different historical areas covered. A bibliography is included at the end of the page for future reference.

This site, compiled by webmaster Lisa Cozzens, divides information into several categories including “Civil War to 1900” and “Early Civil Rights Movement” events. The site also includes descriptions/explanations of important events in African American history include the Dred Scott case and the famed Montgomery bus boycott.
