So, you've decided to create an e-book. Fantastic! Before you begin, there are a few things you should know about writing a quality e-book. I'm sure you want your e-book to sell well. In this guide, you'll find some of the more common strategies used by authors to create an e-book that not only sells, but is considered dynamite!

E-BOOK TACTIC #1: Discover Your Niche

The number one mistake most first time authors make is writing their e-book without regard to the audience they are writing for. I guarantee you the best way to realize true success is by targeting your work toward a specific audience...a niche audience. How do you do this?

To discover your niche, you must discover your key audience...who are you writing for? Are you writing for a population with a specific need/want/interest? Do you know that there is a demand for your product? If not, you haven't thought about your target audience.

The number one mistake e-book authors make is writing a book before they research their target audience, and determine whether or not there is a market for their product.

Keep this in mind...you can't successfully sell a product unless you first determine that there is actually a need for it! Yes, some have been creative and successful at creating a need for a new product. Why not create a product however, for a need that already exists?

That said it is critical that you first determine who your target audience will be and what market they exist in. After doing that you can develop your e-book based on their specific needs and requirements.

When searching for your target audience, you should also take into consideration your personal interests. You'll be much more successful writing on a topic that interests you as well as your potential readers.

Consider a topic that comes naturally to you.

When you've done that, think about what type of markets attract people naturally, just as your topic obviously attracted you.
