I own a Fujifilm FinePix digital camera that came out a few years ago, and I really like it. However, I have my sights set on one of their newer models, the FinePix F30. This is an easy to use compact camera that takes excellent photos, and simple enough for someone to master its many functions. The cost is only a bit more than what I originally paid at one of the big franchise "Radio" stores, and at a reputable web site like Circuit City or Best Buy would only cost around $250. I have looked at the F30 in a few retail establishments, and have spoken to the more knowledgeable salespeople about it.One of the things I did not like about my current FinePix camera is that the rechargeable battery included stopped holding a charge about nine months after it was purchased. The F30 on the other hand has an extended life Lithium Ion battery that delivers almost 600 shots per battery charge.
The camera size really appeals to me, and it fits easily in my pocket. Besides being compact, it is durable, and I know my model (A34) has been dropped a few times without any damage. The F30 is less noisy, and has a reasonably sized 2.5 inch LCD screen, so all pictures on the memory card can be viewed with ease. The screen also contains an anti-glare coating so it is easier to view shots in bright sunlight. Centering the subject of each picture isn't difficult, plus it has an improved flash mechanism for better exposure of any shots taken in a darker setting. The images that I saw did appear more natural than the older camera.
Although I prefer to not get too technical, perhaps the best thing about this camera is the combination of its processor and the advanced lens system, which together are advertised as being at a professional level. What this means is that it is very sensitive, with high resolution color, and will give its user great pictures. Finally there is a "clear view" filter for proper exposure in bright light and a button for increasing brightness when the surroundings are darker. It's media card is not difficult to remove for the copying or printing of photos, and is accepted at the major places that allow self-serve for digital pictures.
