After a few years of spyware programs effecting personal computers around the world, people are finally taking the issue seriously. Anti spyware efforts have been greatly beefed up in the last couple of years, with more and more programs becoming available to destroy the harmful problem. In addition, the federal government and plenty of independent agencies are doing things and leading efforts to rid the computing world of spyware. One such company is one known as the Anti-Spyware Coalition. This group seeks to not only inform consumers about the dangers of spyware, but to also work with companies in developing technology to alleviate the problem. The efforts of this group and others like it have raised the public consciousness about the growing problem of spyware that's bound to continue if left unattended.

The role of the Anti-Spyware Coalition and other anti spyware units like it is to not only put out documents stating their case, but to hold public workshops to help consumers learn how to deal with the problem. These organizations understand that telling computer owners about problems is only part of the solution. In order to truly fight against spyware, anti spyware groups need to show people what to do. Some of their strategies are things that people should know anyway.

Another important thing that Anti-Spyware Coalition does is to declare exactly what a piece of spyware is. As more and more spyware programs come onto the web with intent on messing up personal computers, there is much more of a desire to define exactly what these programs are. Anti-spyware efforts are instrumental in this effort and keeping up with the ever revolving list of spyware offenders.
