One item I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT, is Nissin Chow Mein or Thai Kits as I call them. I wanted something easy and tasty, but that fit within my diet. I am a mom on the go and my husband works 6 days a week, so quick & easy is on our menu every night of the week.

I first tried one of these great kits a couple of months ago and just loved it. We now buy 15 of them at a time, for me and for his lunches. They come in a variety of flavors, from nice and mild to the super spicy that you would expect from Thai food.

You can get anything from Kung Pao chicken to Teriyaki Beef and about 10 flavors in between. They cook in the microwave in just 6 minutes and come out full of bold flavor and fill you up.

For the calorie counters, like me, the kits range between 230-290 calories per serving. The only thing you want to watch for is the sodium content. It can be a little high, but you should be cutting sodium out of the rest of your diet anyway, so a little here every once in awhile won't hurt.

Everything else you want to watch for is generally pretty low, the carbohydrate, sugar, and fat contents are surprisingly low to most things you could be having for lunch. There is 5g of protein and 2g of fiber per serving, making it filling and helping you stay full for the afternoon hours ahead.

Now, I refer mostly to this as lunch, because that is when I have them. But, they would surely make a great fast & easy dinner for the single person or tired mom. I would not recommend them for smaller children because of the heat levels; even the mild ones have hotter peppers in them.

The next time you are out at the market and can't decide what to grab for your quick, easy & healthy grab-n-go meals, stop by your Asian aisle and pick up some Nissin Chow Mein. They are a spicy change to your dull mealtime. At less than a dollar a piece you can't go wrong!

My husband has grown to love them, just off of my one venture out of my norm. You will love them too, after just one bite.

So, we give Nissin Chow Mein two very big thumbs up!!!

You wanna watch out as the range of 230-290 calories per serving is doubled if you eat the box. There are two servings per box, and let's face it, nobody eats just half a box after going through the microwave process. Also, it is high in saturated fat. Be careful and please don't over do it. I love eating this every other week or so as it reminds me of my undergrad days back in South East Asia =)
