Product Review: Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara Doesn't Smear, Flake or Smudge

For years I struggled with mascara flaking, running and smearing. It was especially bad since I suffer from allergies and have a bad habit of rubbing my itchy, watery eyes. This of course made matters worse and sometimes smeared my mascara all over my face.

Wearing mascara on my eye lashes became more trouble than it was worth. I looked good in mascara. When I didn't wear it, my eye lashes were barely noticeable. I finally tired of worrying if my face was spattered with mascara. Eventually, I stopped wearing mascara all together.

When I found clear mascara that is also used as eyebrow gel, I found something that I could wear without making a mess of my face. But clear mascara just didn't make my eye lashes stand out, but it was better than nothing.

A few years ago at the library, I found a book that changed my life, Paula Begoun's, "Don't go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me, 5th Edition." It was so good I immediately bought a copy of all three of Ms. Begoun's books. These books have saved me a lot of money on beauty, skin care and hair products. I give these books as gifts, I think so highly of them.

Paula Begoun has many years of experience in cosmetics. She debunks many makeup and skin care myths perpetrated by the beauty industry. One of the biggest myths is that more expensive products are better than cheaper ones. In the book, Ms. Begoun recommends makeup and skincare products in all price ranges and brands. She focuses on the product's composition and performance rather than the brand or price.

After trying many drugstore brand products that she recommended and having great success, I decided to try one of the inexpensive mascaras she recommended. Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara, recommended by Paula Begoun, is now my holy grail mascara. I have finally found the perfect mascara. It doesn't smear or flake and is waterproof. All of my habitual eye rubbing doesn't even seem to affect the mascara at all and I no longer have mascara all over my face.
