I did not escape the stretch mark fate with my first child. I ended up with permanent reminders on my lower belly, breasts and hips. Second time around, I've decided to up my stretch mark strategy and use Country Rose Herbal Stretch Mark Lotion in an attempt to not add any more to my collection.
During my first pregnancy, I lubed up my belly daily with a cocoa butter stick and would also add olive oil to my baths at night. I was a super greasy pregnant girl. The Country Rose Herbal Stretch Mark Lotion that I am using with belly number two, is also oil based. It is definitely not lotion like the name implies as it is also greasy but it smells so much better than olive oil. It is very pleasant to use.
Country Rose Herbal Stretch Mark Lotion is made at an organic herb farm in Canada so they use organic rose petals, lavender and chamomile from their own gardens to infuse the sweet almond and olive oil for the base of the oily lotion. The ingredients also include cocoa butter, coconut oil, Vitamin E, beeswax, lanolin and essential oil of lavender.
The Country Rose Herbal Stretch Mark Lotion smells wonderful and fresh with lavender being the most prevalent scent. The directions say to rub this rich oil over the belly 2 or 3 times daily so it's great that it smells better than straight olive oil. Now I've only been putting it on once a day so I guess I can't complain about the new stretch mark that's developing above my belly button.
So perhaps all the lubricating in the world can't help some of us predestined to sport mothering scars from getting stretch marks. I still really love Country Rose Herbal Stretch Mark Lotion to help ease the tight pulling sensation that a growing belly gives.
