For those who think Disney is nothing but child's play, think again. Most college aged and beyond would rather spend their vacation in Cancun or Miami, drinking, partying and waking up the next morning with no recollection of the night before. But they tend to overlook what awaits them at one of the most magical places on earth, because they are "too cool" for it. Given a chance, Disney can be the ultimate vacation for any age group, even 20-somethings.

One of the main things that turns off this age group to Disney World is price. Yes, Disney is expensive. I'm not going to sit here and argue that. But if you know when and where to go, you'd be surprised how much money you can actually save. Just because it's Disney does not mean you need to stay in their Deluxe hotels. There are plenty of bargains to be found.

Disney World hotel prices are different based on hotel class and time of year. The hotels are as follows: Value, Moderate, And Deluxe. Of course, for someone on an extreme budget, the Value hotels are actually rather nicely themed (Sports, Music, Movies, or the newest Pop-Century, with each section based on a specific decade). The rooms are a bit small but are very comfy for those who just need a place to sleep. And with everything you'll be doing at Disney, you'll hardly be in there so size doesn't really matter.

The times of year are broken up by season. Value, Regular, Summer, Peak, and Holiday, from the cheapest and least crowded to the most expensive and most crowded, respectively. Value season runs from January to Feburary, August to October, and late November (after Thanksgiving) to early December (before Christmas). For college kids January is the definitely the best time to hit the parks. Value hotels are cheap (about $79 a night), and the crowds are almost non-existent. You can pretty much walk on to many rides, or have a maximum of about a 20 minutes wait, as opposed to Peak or Holiday season which can reach 2 hours or more of wait time!

Takeaways
  • Value hotels can run as low as $79 a night!
  • There are tons of thrills to be found in each park.
  • Much more to be found even outside of the parks!
