Being a stay-home mom is harder than it sounds. It's not all play and no work. Sometimes it's downright boring and lonely. Having other adult friends who stay at home can help you not feel so alone. However, it sometimes proves harder than expected to find other moms who stay at home with their children. Luckily, there are some nationwide organizations that are specifically for the support and fellowship of stay-at-home moms. Listed below are some of the largest and most commonly found mother's groups:

MOMS (Mothers Offering Mothers Support) Club
This international group is for stay at home mothers with children of any age. They have over 2000 chapters in the United States and over 100,000 members. Activities are scheduled primarily during the day and children are welcome at virtually all activities. Each chapter plans their own events which may include park days, playgroups, holiday parties, craft days and much more.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
This international group is for any mom--working or stay at home--with children from infancy to kindergarten. This is a Christian organization, however it is affiliated with no one particular denomination. There are over 3900 MOPS groups meeting nationwide so there is sure to be one near you. Each MOPS group is different--some meet weekly and some monthly; some during they day and some in the evening. Meetings usually consist of someone speaking on a relevant woman/parenting topic and a craft or other time of fellowship. During most meetings, children are cared for in a MOPS preschool-type program, called MOPPETS.
