Over the holidays my family and myself went to Chicago to see some relatives, have some fun, and explore a little. After a wonderful stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin, we left and headed for Chicago. We were going to see a broadway musical called Wicked that night, and so we needed to drop off our bags, check in, and wash up for the show. The hotel valets were kind in greeting us and helping us with our bags. We went inside and I found myself looking down a long hallway with large pillars and amazing chandeliers and carpets. After walking down the hallway a bit we checked in and registered for our room (actually rooms, though I didn't know this at the time). This process took about 10 - 15 minutes, which got me curious about why it took so long. I asked, and my parents told me we had gotten not just one room, but two rooms, along with a third room, which was in fact a suite.

All three rooms were located on 21st floor of the Hilton, which would boggle the mind of anyone who comes from a town of 40,000 like myself. We went up to the room, and found ourselves in the lobby of the 21st floor. We arrived at our rooms, and when we opened the door we realized just how good of a deal we had gotten. Our room was huge! The suite was by far the largest of the three rooms, though the other two were already larger than the average hotel room. The suite had a small kitchen, a large television (with video games), a queen size bed, along with a desk space, sitting area, and bookshelf. The suite had a nice view of the lake, and a bit of the city as well. The rooms also had cable television, and even wireless internet for a small fee. To describe all of the rooms, the lobbies, the hotel all in one word: elegant.

We had a great stay at the hotel, and we went to the show Wicked (which I highly recommend to anyone in Chicago), The Field Museum along wih several other attractions. Anyone who is in Chicago on business, to see family, or just to have fun should seriously think about staying at the Hilton. There are friendly staff, elegant decorations, a great view, and all-in-all a nice hotel.

I always try to stay places that have a kitchenette so I don't have to eat out every meal. I'm WAY too cheap!
