I have to admit it! I did pay one hundred pounds for a pair of GHD Hair straighteners. Now I am a little ashamed about spending 100 pounds on a beauty product but allow me explain... Now I think back to a few years ago when I had my first experience with GHD hair straighteners; I was having my hair done with a new stylist and she asked me how I would like my hair blow-dried. I told her "as straight as you can, please". She suggested I should have the straighteners put through my hair after my hair was blow-dried, I agreed but was a little apprehensive as I had used so many different hair straighteners before in an effort to have "poker straight" hair and always succeeded in ripping and snagging my hair to bits - causing it to look frizzier! But I just let her do her thing and so she proceeded to dry my hair and then she pulled out the GHD's!
I had never seen or heard about GHD's before but I sat patiently whilst she ran them through my hair.
Well, the results blew me away!
My hair in its normal state is extremely coarse and curly - at best! Even if I try to work with the curls by using a "magic" cocktail of styling products it has a tendency to just do as it pleases and normally just looks a big mess! My hair especially looks at its worst in humid atmospheres, it just seems to grow and grow and become frizzier!
Once the hairdresser had finished with the GHD's; my hair was sleek, straight and best of all soft and shiny! My hair was actually poker straight without any bit of frizz in sight! It was truly amazing!
The remarkable results continued throughout the rest of the day, even through all the wind and drizzle it remained to stay straight. Normally any hint of humidity would have sent my hair in to a wild, frizz ball.
I went out that same night with my new look and spent the night in a hot, smoky bar; still it showed no sign of frizz. Then I woke up the next morning expecting it to uncontrollable and back to normal but I could still run by fingers through my hair without the clumpy frizz in sight!
I started to think more and more about these little "miracle-workers" and so began a search for "GHD hair straighteners". What does GHD stand for?
