Easter is on the way! Rather than remember the true meaning of Easter, throngs of people rush to Hallmark to buy all sorts of chicks and bunnies, chocolates and marshmallows, and, of course, all of that shredded plastic "grass". If you are looking for a cute, inexpensive doll to put in anyone's Easter basket, look no further.

Hippie the Ty-Dyed Bunny is an adorable, floppy-eared, multi-colored bunny rabbit. He has a pink plastic nose, pink yarn whiskers, and black and green plastic eyes. He is very soft and measures approximately 8" from toes to head. When he is seated, which is the way that Hippie rests, he is about 5" tall. Hippie's head is plush, and his body is filled with plastic (either PE or PC) pellets. Hippie the Ty-Dyed Bunny weighs approximately 5 ounces, and is very easy for a child to hold with one hand.

There is a heart-shaped tag attached to his ear, known as a "swing tag" or an "ear tag." There is also a tag on his butt, right above his leg, called a "tush tag." If you want to keep Hippie as a collector's item, you MUST keep these tags intact.

Speaking of collecting, Hippie the Ty-Dyed Bunny is retired. This means that he is no longer made by Ty. However, many were released, so he isn't too difficult to find. Still, since Hippie is tye-dyed, no two are exactly alike. Differences in color may raise how much your Hippie is worth. Most are a group of light, pastel colors. If you have a dark one, you might just want to tuck it away.

Cleaning Hippieis easy. You can either spot clean with warm water and soap, or you can just toss him in the washing machine and dryer. If you are holding onto Hippie as a collector's item, washing him isn't the best idea. You should put on a tag protector and seal him in a bag.

Hippie is good for the whole family. Mom and dad and the older kids might like to collect him. The younger kids might like to play with him. He is soft and safe enough for toddlers and babies.

If you are a serious Beanie Babies collector, or even just starting out, Hippie will make a nice addition to your collection. However, there is no need to go overboard and hoard this little guy because he is relatively common.
