Jay Leno Blames India for Sanjaya's Success on American Idol

The extremely popular and newsworthy Sanjaya is doing unusually well on American Idol considering his lack of talent. Most viewers agree that Sanjaya has the least singing ability of the American Idol contestants and deserves to be eliminated each week. However, each week Sanjaya becomes more and more popular. Several new sources have covered the Sanjaya phenomenon on several different occasions. Sanjaya has become so newsworthy that Jay Leno had to comment on the Idol contestant during Monday night's show.

Sanjaya's father is from India, and Leno suggested that Sanjaya might be getting more support from Bollywood than in Hollywood. In a joke, Leno said that the untalented star did not get booted from American Idol this week because of his India background, "where they have all the call centers." Audience members could not hold back the laughter. In a previous show, Leno said that Sanjaya was like the George Bush of American Idol, " No matter how horribly he does, he gets voted back."

The joke of American Idol, Sanjaya has spawned thousands of late night TV show jokes and millions of spastic postings on Websites. Not even a month after the American Idol finals competition began, Sanjaya became a reoccurring character on Saturday night live.

Perhaps Sanjaya is to blame for the slip in Idol's ratings this season. When compared to last season, the show has fewer viewers, and with each episode, the numbers just go lower and lower.

Jay Leno is not the only one joking about Sanjaya. Conan, Dave, Jimmy, and Jon have all played a part in telling more than a few jokes about Sanjaya. When the topic of whether the Sanjaya phenomenon, popularity over talent, will ruin the credibility of American Idol is brought up most Idol execs just give a convenient smile.

Reluctant to blame India or Sanjaya for any slip in the show's ratings or credibility, execs believe that as long as the contestant creates a buzz about the show, everything is going just fine. Sanjaya has certainly gotten people talking.

india is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and a haven for drug and child trafficking. What's worse is india has the worst human rights violations record out of any country in the world and is the only country on the planet where minorities are burnt alive and minority places of worship are decimated. Its about time this country which is an embarrassment to the world community actually is exposed for the evil that it is.

I'm glad he picked on india. india is one of the most corrupt nations in the world who's people cleverly get past every one of the messes they make by playing the race card and crying racism. If people like sanjaya can make it far as he did on american idol without zero talent then it is quite obvious that the indian community which numbers some 1.5 individuals in the U.S alone is voting for him. But when someone comes out and actually says it, these indians get upset. seriously for being the most ridiculed race on the planet some of these indians really have a lot of nerve. America has only been good to their rat infestation of our country.

Jay Leno is a comedian. He need his ratings, however, does he have to go to such extreme when bashing Sanjaya. How can he say Sanjaya or India is responsible for low ratings on American Idol. Personally I believe Sanjaya was good for American Idol. Has any other idol gotten so much publicity? Sanjaya was not the best singer on American Idol. He is not that good out of his comfort zone,however, Sanjaya has talent. He can sing. He is also a good and smart performer. The teenager can sing. He did't deserve to win American Idol because he wasn't the best on the show. Come on, give the teenager some credit. He has a soft voice, he is not the best vocalist, but he can sing. I believe we have not seen the last of Sanjaya.

Thw writers for Jay Leno are ignorant idiots. They cannot even find India in the World map. jay is also riding on the coat tail of Sanjaya Malkar phenomena. Don't steal the thunder from Sanjaya. For a 17 year year old Sanjaya is handling the adversity like a Pro... Go sanjaya. You will be invited to all the Talk shows to improve their ratings. If one half Indian can accomplish this... just watch.. there are many more coming out... like the Chicadas .....

I think Sanjaya is great singer, he has telent what other idol has. It is not right to put him down just because he is from India. He has every right to become Idol.

Oh my God... Please note that we Indians do not even know what the heck is so called Idol pgm. Who the hell are these are these few AMERICAN JOKERS joking about India. Just pathetic....Ben Stiller keeps getting movies even when he is a pathetic actor..No body blames jewish directors in hollywood or israel for that....Indians need to be as powerful as jews, only then Americans will stop looking down on us...Capture their media they way Israel has done!

I agree. Even as a joke, how can people stoop to this level? It is disgusting and sad. I feel sorry for the people who would blame a country for something like this. It certainly is time you grew up.
