President Bush's Press Secretary Tony Snow Has Cancer: My Initial Reaction

I hope you will forgive me for admitting something that I'm sure will result in outrage from certain quarters. The first thing that popped into my mind when it was announced that Pres. Bush's press secretary Tony Snow was facing a relapse of the cancer he had previously fought was that it was all a fake. My first reaction upon hearing the news went something like this: The White House was currently in deep doo-doo over the politically motivated firings of US Attorneys. It was and is a story that seems almost guaranteed to stay near the beginning of every news broadcast for weeks if not months. It will almost certainly result in the revelation that Pres. Bush's Butt Buddy Karl Rove broke the law. Meanwhile, the White House watched as John Edwards' poll numbers took a leap after it was announced that Edwards' wife was battling her own cancer. I could not help but think that Tony Snow's cancer suddenly coming out of remission was perhaps not entirely the truth.
