Your Space on MySpace

I rejected MySpace, and then I became a member. I love it because it is actually my space. There are sections, which are designated for words and can be used for words but are great spaces for pictures and avatars.

The best way to find great backgrounds and graphics is to snoop onto other people's pages. When you view pages, you notice that, attached to their graphics are websites. Click onto these graphics and it will lead you to the site where they obtained these graphics. Usually no matter how "cool" theirs look, you will stumble upon something that better suits you and is even cooler.

On most MySpace pages, there are a few types of objects, which include, avatars, backgrounds, tickers, personality profiles, slide shows, cyber pets and much more. You can also find these sites by running a search. Use phrases such as "MySpace Backgrounds/Layouts", "MySpace Graphics" or "MySpace Avatars". Try to include "MySpace" in your searched so that you get sites that will give you MySpace codes.

Backgrounds/Layouts
This is the backdrop of the page and usually sets the stage when someone visits your page. There are thousands of themes that can be found at any site that offers MySpace backgrounds. A great way to find specific backgrounds is to use a search engine such as Google or Yahoo Search and obtain sites offering specific themes. Are you into cute little puppies? Then you can narrow your search to "Myspace Backgrounds Puppies". Do you love fast cars? Then narrow your search to "MySpace Backgrounds Cars". If you want a specific color or model of car then add that into the search words.

Tip: All sites that offer backgrounds are not created equal. Some sites have badly configured graphics so you paste it into your profile only to find that it looks awful. Just delete and start all over.

Tickers
These are countdowns to birthdays, holidays, due dates and are great for any occasion. There are tickers for weight loss, military deployment and even for couples trying to conceive. Once you enter in the information for your special day and choose ticker design, you will be given a code to paste into your MySpace profile.
