Usain Bolt's 19.19 in Final Sets 200-Meter World Record

.11 Seconds Faster is Usain Bolt's Time in Berlin

Usain Bolt's 19.19 200-meter time is a new world record. Usain Bolt's 19.19 world record came in the 200-meter dash in Berlin. The 19.19 seconds that it took Usain Bolt to run the 200 meters was .11 seconds faster than the previous world record. Already the Olympic Champion in the 200 meters, Usain Bolt was looking to become the world champion, and did just that with an amazing performance that left all of his competition in the dust. The 10 second barrier in the 100-meter dash used to seem insurmountable, but running the 200 meters in less than 20 seconds seemed even harder under recently.

Usain Bolt's 19.19 200-meter race broke the record that he set himself back at the Beijing Olympics in the summer of 2008. That previous world record seemed amazing enough by itself, but when Usain Bolt was able to post a 19.19 second run on Thursday, he reclassified what it means to be fast in the 200-meter race. With the 19.19 second race, Usain Bolt clinched the world championship gold medal, taking home yet another award to his home country. The Jamaican runner has completed re-shaped the world of track and field, and it seems like every race finals that he runs turns into another world record with his name on it.

Usain Bolt already took home the 100-meter gold at these world championships on Sunday, when he posted a record-setting 9.58 second time. Most of the time when Usain Bolt is running races, he ends up slowing down toward the finish because he finds himself so far ahead of the rest of the competition. He didn't slow down on Thursday though, and as he crossed the finish line way ahead of the rest of the pack, he was more than 10 yards ahead of the closest racer. While the rest of the racers had a great battle for second place, this was another day that was dedicated to the achievements of Usain Bolt on the track.

Usain Bolt posted an amazing time of 19.19 seconds in the 200 meter finals on Thursday.
