In Light of Pet Food Recalls:10 Websites for Pet Food Recipes

Now that so many different brands of pet food have been recalled from Menu Foods, a manufacturer, pet owners are looking to alternatives, such as making and preparing their own pet food. Here are ten websites that contain great recipes for your pets.

SimplyPets.com ( http://www.simplypets.com/pet-recipes/ )
There are many different recipes to choose from on this website. From dogs and cats, to reptiles, to horses, and even Llamas, you are sure to find something here for your furry (or not-so-furry) friends.

HealthRecipes.com ( http://www.healthrecipes.com/pet_supply.htm )
This site focuses on dogs and cats and has some healthy recipes your pets are to to thank you for (in their own way, of course). You will read up a little bit on how to make up your own recipes, after which, you can also view some pre-made recipes if you choose not to make up your own.

CooksRecipes.com ( http://www.cooksrecipes.com/category/pet-recipes.html )
These are recipes for dogs and cats. There are many to choose from, especially for dogs. This started as a site for human recipes, but because of many requests for pet food recipes, a pet food section was added.

Recipe Goldmine ( http://www.recipegoldmine.com/pets/pets.html )
Recipe Goldmine has many recipes, including an extensive list for pets. Included are treat recipes as well as meal recipes. There are recipes for dogs, cats, birds, and horses.

NaturalDogFood.com ( http://www.naturaldogfood.com/ )
This website has some practical dog-food making tips and also tells you which foods to avoid. As the title implies, this is only for dogs.

CatNutrition.org ( http://www.catnutrition.org/recipes.html )
This website has many simple raw food recipes for your cat. Many animals cannot digest cooked food, so these raw food recipes will help with that.

RawFoodForLife.com ( http://www.rawfoodlife.com/raw_pet_recipes.htm )
Like the afore-mentioned site, this one focuses on raw food. Here you will find a simple raw food recipe for a cat or a dog.

Great Article! Thanks for all the links. I have always been a little wary of what I am feeding my kitty, but I hate to spend $40 on a bag of food too.

Thanks Tweak. I know I would be worried about it if I had pets, so I decided to share the info. :)
