Was UFC 69 Worth the $39.95?

Earlier I did my review on Wrestlemania 23. I watched Wrestlemania 23 this year even though I'm not a big fan of the WWE; my allegiance has shifted from the WWE to the much more exciting UFC. So naturally I also watched UFC 69. Like my Wrestlemania 23 review I'm going to give each match from UFC 69 a monetary rating in order to see if UFC 69 was worth the $39.95 it cost.

Josh Haynes vs. Luke Cummo
This UFC 69 match up is between two former UFC Ultimate Fighters which seems to be a common thing in the UFC these days. Luke Cummo looked pretty good and was getting some good shots on Josh Haynes. Most people would then try and take their opponent down but Haynes continued to stand with Cummo and take a beating. It's not a smart strategy by Haynes but I like that the guy has some guts and will take a shot. Not a bad low card match for UFC 69.

Alan Belcher vs. Kendall Grove
The second match on UFC 69 was kind of one-sided but Kendall Grove made the match interesting just because of how good he looked. Kendall Grove had a very good all around game and his long reach with both his arms and legs made for some great jabs and knees. Kendall then decided to show his submission ability by ending it with the Darce choke.

Yushin Okami vs. Mike Swick
In the third match of UFC 69 the hometown boy Mike Swick took on Yushin Okami. The match was pretty even in the first round until a takedown by Okami late in the first round. Okami controlled the second round but a flurry at the end of the second round had Swick poised for a comeback. Unfortunately Okami took Swick down again in the third round and nearly ground and pounded him for the entire third round. Like the Grove match it was pretty one-sided but the winner was impressive enough to make the match interesting.
