AL East:
The AL East could be a relitively competetive 3 team race for the title. The obvious teams that should compete are the New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Boston Red Sox. All three of these teams have big question marks and the winner of this division will be the team that can overcome it's weaknesses the best.
New York Yankees: Questionable Pitching and Aging Bats
Rotation: The Yankees have to find a way to keep their starters healthy for the entire year. The big question marks for injury are Andy Petite, Carl Pavano and Chien-Ming Wang. If these picthers can stay healthy than they have a good shot at the division title, but if they don't it could be a long season for the Yankees.
Bullpen: The Yankees bullpen is full of enigmas. They have aging pitching at the back end of the bullpen and their setup man is a question mark. If the Yankees starters can go deep enough into games this weakness will be a smaller problem and If Rivera has another season like the ones that he is used to, the bullpen will be OK.
Aging Bats: The Yankees offense has been around the block a few times and people are starting to wonder if they can make it around one more time. Giambi was better towards the end of last season, Damon had a down year and Rodriguez was not as good as he is accustomed to being. If Cano and Cabrera can have good years and the aging verterans can stay healthy and contribute there offense should still be better than most in the game.
Toronto Blue Jays: Questionable Rotation and Strength of Offense
