Tips for Growing Hair Back After Removing Braid Extensions

My Hair Growth Journey: Two Years and Patiently Waiting

My hair growth journey began two years ago. I started researching healthy hair growth during the summer of 2003. During that time, I had just taken my hair out of braid extensions and I was left with thin, balding spots around my hairline. I did not use the right products to maintain the
style nor did I take my vitamins on a regular basis. I found that using the right products and taking the right amount of vitamins helped to keep my fine hair strong, especially if my hair was in braids. However, I did not maintain the style and paid for it. After that fiasco, I was determined to find a way to grow my hair back and then some. I have always wanted long hair. I later learned that long hair is subjective.  However, I knew what I considered long hair and I was struggling to grow my hair past shoulder length. Some sections of my hair was not shoulder length at all.The summer of 2003 was the first time I discovered websites dedicated to hair growth along with hair forums that held discussions on various hair growth methods, discussions of hair products, and general discussion of life not related to hair. I came across Cathy Howse’s website and I will admit that I was fascinated with her system. I would literally spend hours on the website reading all of the frequently asked questions and hair tips. The next step was to order the products and purchase the book Ultra Black Hair Growth II: Another 6” Longer 1 Year From Now. The products do not promise growth but when used regularly the hair’s condition is improved greatly.

Getting a great braider is crucial, however proper removal of braids is just as important as well. Always use the Take Down Remover when taking out your braids. It will really save your hair-so you can keep all your beautiful hair thick and new growth you have healthy. Much success. cheers

I wish you well in your long but healthy hair journey. I am wondering if you should choose a different braider or a different braided style. I had long healthy hair as a child that was in great condition and thick. As I got older I experienced with different relaxers, colors and weaves. My hair was in horrible shape. I decided to give my hair a break and started wearing tree braids. I had a great braider. My hair along the temples was fragile so she braided the top and I wore a hair piece there. I would take my braids out every few weeks, condition it and rebraid it. I did this for two years. I recently removed them and am wearing my own hair and I can't believe how healthy and thick it is! It's the length I had as a child. I do know of people who said that wearing braids broke their hair but I am proof that that doesn't have to be the case.

Honestly.. I think everybody is diff.. You know diff things work for diff people But i've learned that box braids def does grow hair.. But you most def gotta go to the right people.. ANd dont for ONCE think that means you gotta pay ridiculous money on the braids.. If you're going to a place where you're payin more than 100$ for it. Tell them they should be ashamed of themselves and find another place... (that is minus the price of hair) but yea box braids make your hair grow as long as your scalp moisturized.. with either hair grease or some kinda of oil or leave in conditioner
