Cream Puffs
If you leave the Wisconsin State Fair without eating a cream puff then you have missed out on one of the fairs biggest traditions. A cream puff is a flaky pastry topped with powdered sugar. The pastry is cut in half and filled with real whipped cream, they are oh so yummy. The amount of whipped cream and the size of the pastry makes a cream puff a messy eat. Part of the fun is watching the different techniques that people use to eat their cream puffs.
Entertainment
The Miller Lite Main Stage is packed full of music lovers every night. With big names like the Doobie Brothers, Amy Grant, Trace Atkins, Miranda Lambert, and more the nightly concerts are often sold out. Not a fan of any of the headliners scheduled? There are thirty free music stages that feature popular local bands in every genre. You can even join in on some karaoke!
Shopping
Whether your shopping in the new Expo Center, the World Market, or the Asian Pavilion you will find unique items, bargains, and Wisconsin specific souvenirs. The Expo Center houses hundreds of booths that feature all types of odds and ends, including gourmet candies and dips.
Animals
A favorite of children from 0 to 100 are the animals, especially the Racing Pigs. The Racing Pigs are young pigs that are trained to run a track that includes a small pool. The prize? An oreo cookie! That's right these cute little swine race their hearts out to win an oreo cookie.
The fair has more than just cute animals. Farms from around the state bring their best stock to the Wisconsin State Fair to win ribbons and awards. Many of the animals are 4-H or FFA projects. There are pigs, rabbits, horses, cows, and more. In the birthing center you may catch the birth of a new calf or chick.
The Midway
Not into shopping, music, food, or animals? Then head to the midway for an adrenaline rush on the carnival rides or bungee chair. The Midway features rides, carnival games, and funhouses.
