To make life easier for yourself, and have more control over it, the key is to simplify.

The average household has way too much stuff. Most of it burdens us in more ways than one, financially, emotionally and physically. Why have added stress in your life? Clear out the clutter and simplify your life. You'll be glad you did.

Here are some tips to make your life as simple as possible.

1. Schedule time to do certain tasks. Set up a list, and prioritize what needs to be done, by when. Set aside time each day to work only on that task. Don't let anything interrupt you during that time.

2. Delegate your duties. If you have things that need to be done, but someone else can do it- delegate it! Things like dirty dishes or laundry are great things you can have someone else do, like your older children. Chip in a few dollars for their "chores," and they'll be happy to help. This will free up time for you to work on more important tasks.

3. Clean your closet. Get rid of all the clothes that have been hanging around for 20 years. Rearrange your clothing and organize your shoes. The sell great closet organizers, and everything will be handy and easy to get to, saving you time from searching the laundry pile.

4. Pick an area of your house and get to work. Start decluttering, and do one section at a time. Eventually, when all of your clutter is gone, it will take care of your "mind trash" and ease your stress. If you need something, you'll now know where to find it. Everything that has been around collecting dust will be gone, and your home will be easier to clean, taking less time than ever before.

5. Remember to schedule down time. You need time to recharge and relax. Go for a brief walk, or sit in your garden and enjoy the fresh air. You'll be relaxed and ready to go again!
