While I do understand the women at Rutgers's University are upset over being called "nappy headed ho's" on the Don Imus show, there are truly bigger issues to worry about. From the standpoint of a young woman not much older than the players on the team, I truly feel that this small issue does not need as much publicity as it does. There is no reason to continue feeding publicity to someone who is apparently such a horrible example to children, and adults alike.
People are upset over the comments, so why continue to allow him on television and radio? If the stations are truly so upset, they would have pulled him from the radio immediately. I truly believe this is nothing more than a trumped up publicity stunt that has spiraled into trying to control the news. There are thousands of American troops overseas, an enormous illegal alien problem, and many other large issues that this country should be concerned with.
We allow ourselves to be concerned with remarks that are nothing more than mere words, in the meantime a man LaCalamita is walking into an office building and shooting random employees in the building injuring 1 and killing 2 others. Yet this man and this event have received less publicity than the Don Imus remarks. A suspicious truck was stopped at one point, while a federal bank was shut down and yet how many know about that story?
