The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Wii has developed, with some, a nasty reputation as a quick port game. That is not true. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is easily one of the best games that has hit any console. The graphics for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are impeccable. Reminiscent of Ocarina of Time, the 3D worlds of Hyrule are beautifully designed. Especially good is the water. Water in fishing holes, lakes, and Zora's Domain is perfect. It doesn't get much better than these graphics.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess stays true to the plotlines. The hero? You, Link. The heroine? Zelda. The land to save? Hyrule. True, there is not much storyline change. However, the plot does change. You will see some things have changed, and old villains have returned. A land of spirits, a land of twilight that only intersects with our world at dusk begins to take over. This land is where people have been sentenced for crimes. When Link enters the twilight, he becomes a ferocious wolf that is every bit as tough and able as Link. At first, you can't control the changes between human and wolf. Then, as the game progresses, you become able to control the changes and have to use a combination of characters to make it through dungeons. "Wolf Link" can use several different abilities, such as heightened senses and digging capabilities.
The control scheme in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is amazing. The Wii's Nunchuk controller is used for 1st person viewing, movement, and the old Z-targeting system. Also, by shaking the Nunchuk, you are able to perform Link's spin attack. Later, by learning special moves, you can thrust the Nunchuk forward to do a shield bash. The Nunchuk is even used for a fishing reel. The Wii-mote is used to perform other actions. When using the bow, slingshot, or clawshot, you can point the Wii-mote at the screen to aim. The Wii-mote is also used to swing your sword by waving it and pushing button combinations.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is also not for those who want a quick play. With an average of around 40 hours of gameplay, it will keep you occupied for a while.
