Fair St. Louis and Celebrate St. Louis announced the summer line up for the Live on the Levee concert series today, April 10, 2007.

This year's headliners include The Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, Cydi Lauper, Los Lonely Boys, Emmylou Harris, G Love and Special Sauce, Bruce Hornsby, Ani DiFranco, Pete Yorn, Steel Pulse, Musiq Soulchild and Robert Randolph and the Family Band. The series kicks off during the Fair St. Louis festivities on July 3, and continues every weekend through August 4.

Each show takes place underneath the world famous Arch - the Gateway to the West, and ends with a fireworks display that promises to be at least 20 minutes in length. Highlights of the event include food and drink vendors and local bands opening for the main acts, as well as an evening under the stars with a back drop of the Mighty Mississippi rolling past. The events promise to be family friendly and are free. Ample parking is available and Metrolink runs to the nearby Laclead's Landing stop.

The Celebrate St. Louis committee also announced one new addition to the summer concert season. The Sauce Café will replace the controversial "Eat's Bridge" of previous years and will offer a tablecloth dining experience unlike anything else. Noshers will be able to sit next to the river, enjoy the live show, and dine on three-course meals prepared by some of the best in the city.

Keeping to the family friendly theme, the event is also offering a "Family Fun Village" every night of the series starting at 6 p.m., and opening at 11 a.m. on July 4. The "Family Fun Village" promises to include performers, artistic opportunities and educational activities for the younger riverfront visitors. The Family Fun Village will close at 8 p.m. when the headline act takes the stage.

There is also an opportunity for music lovers in St. Louis to voice their opinion and shape the final headline choice. Currently, the Live on the Levee website has a poll to determine the final band from a list of nine national artists. The winner will perform the final show on August 4.
