And I Thought I Had it Bad
Review of Brian Brooks - Oopsy Daisy's Bad Bad Day
Fun, Quick read, Quick pick-me-up, Great for kids
Cons
Not much of a story
Right in the middle of this horrible bad week, I stumbled upon Oopsy Daisy's Bad Bad Day in Spencers for only $2 so I had to buy it. Nothing makes you feel better when you are in a bad mood than laughing at others' misfortunes. Now I'm not saying this book completely cleared the clouds away, but it definitely started to thaw out my frozen, mean heart.
Oopsy Daisy's Bad Bad Day is out of the Special Friends series. Oopsy Daisy looks so sweet with the little daisy in her hair and her abnormally large head, maybe her misfortunes come from bad karma (she seems to cause a bit of the trouble on her own) in which case I should hide under the bed at my house to try to avoid the same fait as Daisy.
Plot
Sweet innocent little Daisy is just trying to live through the day, but nothing seems to be working out in her favor. Her alarm clock attacks her; she wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, literally, gets arrested, and gets into all kinds of other trouble. Since this is a super short book (only one sentence, if that, on each page), I could easily go through and tell you all of Daisy's misfortunes, but I will not, you need to see the pictures to truly appreciate the book.
The Verdict
Buy this book! It has lots of pretty, bright pictures, it will lighten up your mood and make you a better person in general (okay, I made that one up, but when my mood is lightened, I definitely do not try to hurt as many people). I have started carrying this book around in my purse so it is always there when I need to calm down. This is a good book for everybody. It will make the most evil person feel a bit better, kids will like it because it has bright colors, is short, and easy to read, and even the normal people can enjoy it because deep down, I know that we all secretly like to laugh at other's misfortunes. Go get this book, I only paid $2 for it and it will probably save me hundreds in medical bills from anger related heart attacks. With only 64 pages this book has only a small amount of reading making it perfect for children.
