The Chargers will open their 2007 nfl campaign against the Chicago Bears at home on Sunday September 9th. The schedule makers were not easy on the defending AFC West Champions, as their second game will be against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season. That game will be in front of a national television audience as they play at New England against the Patriots on Sunday Night Football. They will play two other primte time games during the season as they host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football on November 11th, and then get their sole appearance on Monday Night Football hosting the Denver Broncos on Christmas Eve.
In between their game against the Patriots and the game against the Colts, the Chargers will play six games in a row against teams that did not make the nfl playoffs last season. The Indianapolis game starts another challenging stretch for the Chargers as they will play games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, and division rival Kansas City Chiefs over a four week stretch. The Chargers then play two opponents that were not playoff participants in the Tennesee Titans and Detroit Lions. The season finishes with two divisional games as they host the Monday night game against the Broncos and the finish the season in Oakland.
