Patrick in Woodstock, IL manages, "I'll Sell It" just one of the small EBay stores that will look at your unwanted items, take photos of them and load them on EBay, watch for bids and do all the shipping and packaging. According to the seller agreement there is a 33% commission fee for items that sell for 40 to 1000.00, 23% that sells from over 1000 to 2000 and 13% for anything that sells for 2000 dollars and up.
When you first come into the store, you are greeted by someone and they will have a consultation over your items. The employee looks up the worth of the items on internet by googling it (using the search engine Google) and seeing how many of the same item is selling on EBay and for how much. It the item looks to be a sell of at least 40.00 it passes to be sold. Once it passes, you are asked various questions about how old, the model (if necessary) how much you originally paid etc. The auction always starts out with 9.99 if you don't want an upfront cost. If you would like a specific starting amount for your item higher then 9.99 you have to pay a small upfront cost of 10% of what you are asking. After this is done with all your items, you are prompted to sign a contract.
The contract basically says that if your items don't sell you must come and pick them back up, it lays out the commission fees and f you have an upfront cost. It also relieves the store from any liability of damage to your items before it is sold or damaged in the mail. It also says that the items that you are selling are not stolen and if found to be stolen that the E-bay store will turn the item and your information over to the police.
