Nuyorican dancer, singer, and actress Jennifer Lopez recently lent her singing expertise to the contestants of this season's American Idol competition. Jennifer Lopez has accomplished so much during h
er career. It's only natural that she decided to help aspiring singers. Lopez has also found a way to help aspiring dancers through her MTV reality show "Dance Life". The show premiered in 2007 with Lopez taking on the producer role as the show follows six aspiring dancers.
Dancing is probably what got Lopez her start in Hollywood. In the early 90's she was a Fly Girl on "In Living Color" as well as a back up dancer for singing sensation Janet Jackson. Not too long afterward, Lopez began putting out her own chart topping albums as well as taking on starring roles in hit films.
In 1997 Lopez got to combine her dancing, singing, and acting talents all at once for her portrayal of singing sensation Selena in the film Selena. That same year Lopez starred in Anaconda. It was also during this time that Lopez married her first husband, Ojani Noa, a Cuban waiter. The marriage didn't last long, though. They were married in 1997 and divorced in 1998. Despite the short marriage, Noa wants to write a book about their relationship.
In 1998 Lopez lent her voice to the big screen as the character Azteca in the animated film Antz. In 2000 she was in The Cell. 2001 was a big year for Jennifer Lopez. She starred in the films The Wedding Planner and Angel Eyes. During this time her album JLo hit #1 on the charts. Amazingly, this happened in the same week The Wedding Planner hit number one.
Also in 2001, Lopez married her second husband, Cris Judd, who was a back up dancer. However, in 2002 the two were divorced. Lopez was later engaged to actor Ben Affleck, and their relationship was affectionately termed "Bennifer". Affleck gave Lopez a 6 carat pink diamond engagement ring. After the two split, it was reported that Lopez did return the ring to Affleck.
