There has been an immediate recall of some popular children's toys, due to a critical safety factor claims U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in Washington D.C. The products in question are listed as "Sounds of the Farm" puzzles along with "Sounds on the Go", puzzles manufactured by Small World Toys in Culver City, California. The pre-school products are made of wood and have simple puzzle pieces that make certain sounds when picked up by the wooden knob found on each piece. Animal sounds come from the 'Farm' puzzle and automotive sounds come from the 'On the go' puzzle. The wooden knob poses a serious choking hazard to young children after often becoming detached during use. The products are made in China for the Small World Toy company.

The puzzles have been sold in many toy stores and department stores through-out the U.S.A. There have been more than 78,500 puzzles ordered recalled. The toys were sold under two brand names. They were listed as Puzzilbilities and Ryan's Room brands. The products carry the numbers 24101 and 24102 stamped on the bottom of the toys. The toys were sold for approximately $16 each. Consumers are asked to immediately take the toy away from the child and return it for a replacement toy. You are asked to call the recall hot line at 1800-421-4153.

The puzzles sold at Target were listed under the Ryan's Room brand and were sold from January 2006 through February 2007. The Puzzilbilities brand was sold in other toy stores from June 2003 through February 2007. More than 42 reports have been received from consumers about the dangerous toys. No injuries or deaths have been reported as of yet.

Some, if not most, of the countries "cheap toys" come from have no high regards for human life like we do. Another good reason to avoid shopping at Wal-Mart (just had to throw that in).

It is a wonder we survived childhood! Love the cute puzzle pic. Granddaughters beyond the age for that type. I notice some toys from other countries do not put the child warning label on them. IF it is not there I don't buy it.

Ah, too bad this happened for a company with a good product line. Excellent report.
