Easter is a beautiful time of year to get married. Spring is arrived, and with it the hope of rebirth and new life - the perfect symbol of a new life started together. An Easter wedding should be a celebration, and an excuse to avoid roses if they are not the flower for you. There are many beautiful spring flowers that add to the feel of the day, and, as a bonus, they are much less expensive than roses.Pastel colors, especially yellows, are the colors of Easter. Daffodils, lilies of the valley, tulips, primroses, narcissus, forsythias, and irises all come in shades of yellow and in white. Mixing light green foliage with the flowers for contrast. Other light-colored flowers include hyacinth, lilac, sweet pea, and forget-me-not. The bride can carry a bouquet of daffodils or tulips tied with a light-colored ribbon. Or for an extra touch, the bride can carry a spring basket (shallow) full of different flowers and greenery.
The dress should be soft and flowing. Great materials for an Easter wedding dress include gorgette, chiffon, and organza. Embroidery on the dress (bodice or hem) or edge of the veil should be feminine and add a soft look. It can even be a light color to match the Easter wedding colors. Instead of a veil, one might wear an elegant Easter bonnet. Or, if one does not wish to wear a bonnet, small spring flowers tied in the hair look very nice and add to the atmosphere of spring.
Decorations should include spring flowers, greenery, rabbits or bluebirds, butterflies, chicks, eggs, and small silver bells. For a religious Christian couple, an Easter wedding is an excellent opportunity to show their love for Jesus with crosses in pale colors or white, decorated with flowers and/or ribbons. Setting up a trellis behind the receiving line or as a backdrop to the cake or the band can be an excellent decoration. Decorate the white trellis with greenery and flowers. Another decoration idea is to use small wheelbarrows as decorations around the room on the floors. Fill the barrows with flowers and greenery (maybe add a chick or rabbit) and decorate the handles with robbons.
