Fremont, Ohio's Own Snow Queen

The Snow Queen is alive and living in Fremont, Ohio. I recently had the distinct pleasure of visiting her little snow village located in the front room of her tiny cottage. I quit counting after I reached one thousand snow people. Each has a special seat around the room. It doesn't stop there folks.

I was given a guided tour. The Snow Prince aka Rheus is a sweet golden/chow mix breed animal filled with joy. He is playful till you get near his food then is a guard dog beyond any definition. He also guards the seventeen Christmas trees that fill every room with a special spirit. Even the powder room is decorated, over the stool is a sign that reads "Most of my dear friends are flakes.", the seat cover on the commode is emblazon with a special caricature of a snow person, and in the corner next to the shower is yet another Christmas Tree.

I was graced with a mug of good Columbian coffee and a plate of warm pumpkin bread. As we spoke the ambiance began to work it's special effects on my mind. The Queen then brought out her snow wand from it's sacred sheath. She explained it would create snow and all the happiness that comes with it with just a flick of her wrist.

I did suggest perhaps the folks in Hawaii would love to experience some snow. She explained that in God's infinite wisdom there were a few places she could not use her power. Phoenix Arizona was another she mentioned, explaining that once she had a request for snow in Phoenix so did her magic and all that happened was a foot of rain. We won't mention the time she lost money at the tables in Las Vegas. It only lasted two days but the folks there have placed a bounty of one million dollars on her wand.

When I mentioned that I was a writer for AC she beamed with delight. I know her story is a bit outrageous but it is all truth. When I asked if the snow people were stored after the season ended. Her reply was priceless... "The Christmas trees are put away till early November but the snow folks live here, it's their home. I couldn't put them into a box or any other kind of storage. I even set the Air Conditioner at 30 so they will be comfortable in June, July and August. Their happiness is a joy to my heart."
