The box of six Bright Effects Soft White Fluorescent Bulbs was very reasonable, retailing for around $11.00, so I feel we did get a very good value from our local Lowe's store.
If you have never used these types of energy saving bulbs, there are a few things to be aware of. First, they contain mercury, which is toxic, so you want to be extremely careful not to break any of them! The box also states that they are not to be used in places that allow them to be exposed to the weather. Nor should they be used for emergency exit fixtures or emergency exit lights, light dimmer switches, photo controls, or electronic timers.
Bright Effects warranties their bulbs for 2 years, stating they will be free of defects in workmanship or materials for that amount of time. If you are using these commercially, the warranty drops down to one year.

Our Bright Effects florescent bulb went our within 2 months of purchasing and using the bulb in our bathroom. We are very unhappy with this product
