I am one of the die-hard fans of the television show, the X-Files known as X-Philes. I wanted to do a ten best episodes list, but everyone does a ten best list, so I decided to do a ten worst list instead.

I only include the first 7 seasons because I don't count the last 2 seasons as part of the show, that was a different show altogether.

10) Chinga: Steven King wrote this episode and I love Steven King, but this story is a little odd-even for the X-Files. Mulder has to stay in DC to work, and Scully has gone on a vacation. While she's away, she stumbles in the middle of a town's crisis- everyone in the grocery store is clawing their eyes out.The locals believe that it's witchcraft, but there's no witch, just an autistic girl with her very spooky doll.I'm with Mulder on this one, the story is too much like a Chucky story. I'm sorry to say that the greatest supernatural horror writer of any time wrote one of the worst X-Files episodes ever.

9) Drive: This is the first X-Files episode that I have ever seen. It is centered around a radio tower that is transmitting a frequency that will kill anyone who can hear it and doesn't move toward it. Of course once you get there, you die anyway because you can't move toward it anymore. My question, why didn't more people in this episode go crazy and explode?

8) The Amazing Maleeni: This episode is about the biggest trick ever, but it became too much of a carnival to make the body in it seem serious. Even Gillian Anderson has stated this. One of the gags were just plain stupid and added to the cartoonish nature of the show. C'mon, how many cartoons have a gun that shoots flags that say "bang" on them?

7) The list: This episode is about a man on Death Row who made a list of 5 people who he would kill when he became reincarnated. They toss around the word "reincarnation", but they need to look into the meaning of that word. Reincarnation is when the soul of someone is reborn into a new body. The guy killing the people on the list-who is supposed to be reincarnated-from a guy who died 6 months ago-is about 40-something! I think they needed to use the word "possession" instead.

Did You Know?
"Je Souhaite" is French for "I wish"

The joke was always on Scully. She attracted almost 95% of the supernatural activity going on while being the "scientific" Spock type logical thinker who derided everything going on in front of her. Scully had the capacity for denial that was unreal. Nice article.
