Summer time is almost here! Are you ready for your teen or young adult to get off the couch and earn some cash? I have found some interesting and fun summer jobs in the Houston area that might give your teen a boost out the door.

What could be more fun than being a lifeguard and you get a great tan as a bonus. Aquatic Management of Houston, Inc. has many lifeguard jobs available and it is never too soon to apply. They hire over 3,000 lifeguards and pool managers each summer. Positions are available in Houston, Kingwood, Humble, Spring, Katy, Missouri City, Stafford, Huffman, Atascocita, Bellaire and other areas in Fort Bend and Harris Counties. One of the job requirements is you must be certified in Lifeguard Training, CPR and First Aid. There are several places you can get your certification. You can apply online at www.swimjobs.com .

How about hanging out at a water theme park all day long? I would like your teen would jump at this chance. Schlitterbahn in Galveston has multiple summer jobs available. Some of their jobs listings as Lifeguard, First Aid, Food and Beverage Service, Cashier, Retail Clerk, Park Services, Water Quality Technicians, and Maintenance. Some of the positions have certain age requirements in addition to other standards that need to be met. You must be at least 16 years old to be considered for a Lifeguard position, Food and Beverage Services, Cashier, and Park Services. For the positions of First Aid, Water Quality Technicians and Maintenance you must be at least 18 years old. You can apply online, or call 409-770-WAVE, ext. 4701.

Everyone loves to go to camp! These next three companies have terrific positions available. Kids Entertainment has several positions open this summer. Some of the positions include General Counselor, Athletic Specialists, Adventure Specialists, Creative Specialists, Dramatic Arts Specialists, Lifeguard and WSI, and Before and After Care Specialists.
